Lung Tumor Growth Modeling in Patients with NSCLC Undergoing Radiotherapy

چکیده
This paper proposes two modeling approaches to predict lung tumor dynamics as an effect of radiotherapy. Real clinical information non-small cell cancer (NSCLC) patients undergoing stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) the primary treatment method has been used for numerical simulations. The classical Gompertz model volume growth prediction was modified using a fractional parameter and combined with linear-quadratic foresee SBRT on targeted tumor. Another approach implemented by following pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) minimal compartmental single SBRT. Statistical analysis carried out compare models. In terms prediction, obtained results indicated decrease in total both approaches. A striking observation emerge from data comparison is interesting perspective tools further exploration growth. A quantitative investigation on lung tumor site on its motion tracking in radiotherapy with external surrogates
Introduction: In external beam radiotherapy each effort is done to deliver 3D dose distribution onto the tumor volume uniformly, while minimizing the dose to healthy organs at the same time. Radiation treatment of tumors located at thorax region such as lung and liver has a challenging issue during target localization since these tumors move mainly due to respiration. There are...
متن کاملLung stereotactic body radiotherapy for early-stage NSCLC in patients with prior pneumonectomy: a case report.
Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) has become the standard of care for patients with medically inoperable early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A paucity of published data exists regarding the safety of SBRT use in patients with prior pneumonectomy. This report describes 2 patients with NSCLC and prior pneumonectomy who were treated with lung SBRT and experienced a favorable treatm...

1960 www.thelancet.com Vol 388 October 22, 2016 Radiation oncologists are often challenged because of the paucity of randomised trials supporting their clinical practice. In terms of brain metastases treatment, it should be emphasised that there have been fi ve randomised trials assessing whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT): four studies assessing stereotactic radio therapy with or without WBRT for...

Objective: To evaluate the effect of dialysis and kidney transplantation on serum levels of several tumor markers such as PSA, AFP, CA125, CA19- 9, CA15-3, CEA and to compare with normal age matched controls. Methods: Between September of 2000 and July of 2001, the following tumor markers: PSA, AFP, CA125, CA19-9, CA15-3 and CEA were measured by ELISA Method in 29 hemodialyzed patients (group A...
متن کاملImage-based modeling of tumor growth in patients with glioma
In the diagnosis of brain tumors, extensive imaging protocols are routinely used to evaluate therapeutic options or to monitor the state of the disease. This gives rise to large numbers of multi-modal and multi-temporal image volumes even in standard clinical settings (Figure 1), requiring new approaches for comprehensively integrating information of different image sources and different time p...
